Abstract
Wheat is one of the most important staple crops globally, providing a major source of calories and nutrients to millions of people. However, wheat production is severely threatened by various insect pests, leading to significant yield losses. These pests attack different parts of the plant throughout its growth stages, from seedlings to grain storage. This review provides an in-depth look at the key insect pests that affect wheat, their biology and lifecycle, the damage they cause, and current management practices. Integrated pest management (IPM) strategies that combine chemical, biological, and cultural approaches are discussed as essential tools for sustainable wheat pest control.
